The question is not whether we will die, but how we will live. -Minding the Body, Mending the Mind, Joan Borysenko

I understand your cancer experience As a cancer survivor myself I have an understanding of what you are experiencing with your treatment and beyond. I understand the fear, the pain, the anxiety, the discomfort, the isolation and the uncertainty of the future. I am here to offer you encouragement and hope. Diagnosis: Throat CancerMy throat cancer was diagnosed in October 2003 and my treatment ended in June 2004. The chemo and radiation took a heavy toll on me. My throat was blistered on the inside which reduced my voice to barely a whisper. For many months I couldn't swallow at all, which forced me to live on crushed pain pills and canned food poured into a stomach tube. I lost about a quarter of my body weight. There wasn't much muscle mass remaining and I looked pretty sad. For several months after treatment my energy level dropped to zero and stayed there. I thought I would never regain my strength, but slowly I climbed back.I Received a Second ChanceAbout a year after treatment ended I had an awakening of sorts. I felt as if I had just been aroused from a coma. I woke up to my life again. My friend, Ken says that I cheated death. I prefer to think I have been offered a second chance to live. I Found a Gift in My Cancer ExperienceAs odd as it may sound to some, I discovered a beautiful gift hidden within the pain of my cancer experience. Through introspection I was able to locate the message of this gift. It offered me a greater awareness of myself and my purpose in life. Tools for Change: Hypnotherapy and Coaching I realized I could make a difference in the world by helping cancer patients. This is my calling in life. After all these years, a tough bout with cancer brought it forward. I was finally giving myself permission to follow my dreams and be of service to others.
Helping Others Transform their Cancer ExperienceThe result of that realization and years of training has brought me to where I am today as a Certified Hypnotherapist and Cancer Support Coach. I truly love what I do! What I enjoy most is spending my time helping cancer patients transform a negative experience into a life-empowering event. Many of my clients have changed their beliefs and have found a new joy in life, and a freedom from their past(see Client Results). For the privilege of being able to assist them in this process, I am so very, very grateful. The personal rewards of my work are tremendous. Find Your Gift in CancerI encourage you to exercise your option of choice, and to find the gift within your own cancer experience. By allowing yourself to live the life of your dreams, I believe that you too can make a difference in the world through compassion and caring for others.
Live Your Life with JoyFrankly, none of us know how long we will be here. That uncertainty is even more top-of-mind with cancer patients and survivors. I hope you choose to fully enjoy your life in this present moment and live with peace in your mind, and joy in your heart. If I can help you, I will.

I know there are those who've been through worse than I have and never seem to catch a break. Therefore I feel the least I could do is try to offer some form of assistance. --Moving Forward, Taking the Lead in Your Life, Dave Pelzer (also author of A Child Called "It")
